We have reported earlier that the shooting of Srijit Mukherji’s directorial with Dev and Rukmini Maitra will start in January 2024. As per reports, Parambrata Chatterjee, and Swastika Mukherjee will play pivotal roles. Anupam Roy will be the composer. The film's name is Tekka and it is to be produced by Dev Entertainment.

Dev and Srijit are not known to be the best of friends in the industry. There were some tensions regarding their Byomkesh ventures. Dev’s Bagha Jatin and Srijit's Dawshom Awbotaar competed with each other during Durga Puja. But since they talked about making a film together, their fan clubs did not fight each other this time. Since both Dev and Srijit are professionals, they can keep aside their equations while working together. Similarly, Swastika and Parambrata also had some problems. Still, they worked together in Shah Jahan Regency and Shibpur. Anupam and Parambrata’s friendship has muted, according to sources. But that doesn’t create obstacles to working together.

Srijit is always comfortable to work with his favorite actors. Parambrata and Swastika are his favorite actors. He did six films with Parambrata and three films with Swastika. Dev and Parambrata worked together in the film Password. This is Srijit’s first time with Dev and Rukmini together. He offered Rukmini to work in Dawshom Awbotaar but that did not materialise. It is heard that the film may be released during Durga Puja in 2024.

As per sources, After Dawshom Awbotaar, this film will also be a thriller. Srijit is the co-writer of the film. Speculations were rife that Srijit and Dev might have collaborated with Siraj ud-Daulah. However, sources close to the production team said that the film will be a modern thriller and not a period piece.
