Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, directed by Luv Ranjan of "Pyaar Ka Punchnama," is his another romantic comedy and stars Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. The movie, which had been in production for several years, ultimately released on March 8, on Holi, in theatres.  For Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Shraddha Kapoor wasn't the initial choice. Well, it was Deepika Padukone.

Deepika Padukone was spotted outside of filmmaker Luv Ranjan's residence in July 2019, which sparked rumours that she will soon be joining Ranbir Kapoor for a film. While the producers had not yet released an official statement, DP's name started to trend on Twitter and according to Koimoi, owing to Luv Ranjan's involvement in the #MeToo movement, Deepika's fans started the Twitter hashtag #NotMyDeepika, pleading with her to reject his forthcoming movie.

Deepika Padukone's fans were observed criticising her for her morals and beliefs soon after her covert rendezvous. Some even requested that the actress rethink her decision to work with Luv Ranjan.

Luv Ranjan was accused of sexual misconduct in 2018 for the uninitiated. He then expressed regret and told Scroll.in in an interview, “It doesn’t matter that I believe I haven’t done anything wrong. What matters is that someone has felt wronged.”

Deepika Padukone dropped from the Luv Ranjan movie in response to fan requests, and Shraddha Kapoor ultimately got the role.

Meanwhile, TJMM also stars Dimple Kapadia, Anubhav Bassi and Boney Kapoor in pivotal roles. It has released in theatres and will soon be available for streaming on Netflix.
