Three hundred years before the events of Game of Thrones, one hundred years before the last dragon breathed its final breath, the Iron Throne was firmly in the grasp of House Targaryen at the height of their power and influence. King Viserys chooses his daughter Princess Rhaenyra as the successor, passing over his brother Daemon Targaryen and his other daughter Rhaenys. The realm had never seen a Queen on the throne until then. House of Dragon is a medieval fantasy show helmed by Ryan J Condal and George R.R. Martin, based on the latter's book Fire and Blood. The show stars Paddy Considine as Viserys, Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra, Dr Who star Matt Smith as Daemon and Eve Best as Rhaenys Targaryen. The rest of the cast includes Olivia Cooke, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Sonoya Mizuno and Milly Alcock.
