Masters of the Air

An American war-drama miniseries based on the 2007 book by by Donald L. Miller titled  Masters of the Air: America's Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany. The show takes place during world war 2, and follows eleven men in the 100th Bomb Group, a B-17 Flying Fortress unit. The bomber is nicknamed "Bloody Hundredth" due to the high amount of casualties it incurred. The relentless battle thus ensued became a significant chapter in the history of the air warfare marked by valour, loss, and victory. Masters of the air is the first series to be produced by Apple Studios, in cooperation with Playtone, and Amblin Television under the helm of Gary Goetzman, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, and is the conceptual companion of shows companion to Band of Brothers and The Pacific. Created by John Shiban and John Orloff, the show stars Austin Butler, Callum Turner, Anthony Boyle, Barry Keoghan, Nikolai Kinski, Stephen Campbell Moore, Sawyer Spielberg and Isabel May in major roles. Masters of the Air is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, Dee Rees, Anna Boden, Ryan Fleck and Tim Van Patten and can be streamed on Apple+.
