IPL 2024 - Dominant KKR bowlers dismantle DC, Kuldeep Yadav becomes highest scorer

It wasn't Delhi Capitals' (DC) day, especially after winning the toss in Match 47 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 and electing to bat first against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). After scores of 200+ in each of the last six innings at the venue, this match saw DC manage to score just 153 runs.

With wickets falling continuously, and Delhi being at 111/8, it seemed like the visitors would be bowled out inside 20 overs. However, spinner Kuldeep Yadav kept his cool and emerged as his team's highest scorer, smashing 35 runs not out off 26 balls, while his team lost 9 wickets in 20 overs.

The second-highest scorer was skipper Rishabh Pant, who scored 27 runs off 20 balls. For KKR, Varun Chakaravarthy claimed three wickets, while Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana picked up two each. Mitchell Starc and Sunil Narine also contributed with one wicket each.

Regarding the DC batters, Prithvi Shaw (13 off 7), Jake Fraser-McGurk (12 off 7), Abishek Porel (18 off 15), Shai Hope (6 off 3), Axar Patel (15 off 21), Tristan Stubbs (4 off 7), Kumar Kushagra (1 off 3), and Rasikh Dar Salam (8 off 10) fell like a pack of cards.

Fans also took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express how Kuldeep Yadav has become such a dependable batter towards the end. But it will surely be to see if DC can defend this total in Kolkata.
