Roslin actress Meena says even Jeethu Joseph was doubtful if she would accept the bold role

Meena, who is now mostly known for her role in Mohanlal’s Drishyam movies, recently revealed that her character in the Roslin series is unlike any character she has played so far.

Roslin: Secret Stories is an upcoming Malayalam web series, which features actress Meena in a lead role. Meena, who is now mostly known for her role in Mohanlal’s Drishyam movies, recently revealed that her character in Roslin is unlike any character she has played so far. So much so that even her Drishyam director Jeethu Joseph, who is the showrunner of the series, was doubtful if she would accept the role.

What is Meena’s role in Roslin series

In a recent chat with FTQ with Rekha Menon, Meena revealed that she plays a bold, strong role in the Roslin series. Meena, who started off as a child artist before transitioning into lead roles, said that she had been playing very soft, sweet and subdued roles in Malayalam.

“But when I heard the Roslin character, I loved it because she was strong, very independent. Not just that, it was a completely different characterisation.

"This was very different. In fact when the producers and directors side were discussing, Jeethu and all thought about me. But they were doubtful 'will she do it, will she accept it’,” the actress recounted.

The director then reached out to her and asked her to think over it after narration, but Meena said she did not have any second thoughts and immediately said yes.

What’s Roslin series about

The Roslin series is about a teenage girl who has nightmares about a stalker, who she claims has green eyes. Meena plays her mother, and is said to be the more dominant of the parents. Actor Vineeth plays her husband, while Hakim Shahjahan is seen as the mysterious man who turns up at her house. Roslin will drop on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium on February 27, 2026.

Is Meena in Drishyam 3

On the other hand, Meena’s upcoming Malayalam film release is Drishyam 3, helmed by Jeethu Joseph. She will be reprising her role as Rani, the wife of Georgekutty, played by Mohanlal. Drishyam 3 hits theatres on April 2, 2026.
