Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani

After his 2016 romantic drama Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Karan Johar made a comeback with this Hindi romantic comedy family drama film retaking his quintessential genre, written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy. Produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios, the film stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Churni Ganguly, Aamir Bashir, and Kshitee Jog in lead roles. The movie follows the story of a uniquely different couple with counterposing personalities, an eccentric and flamboyant Punjabi man and a sophisticated and reserved Bengali woman who fall in love against all odds. Their relationship confuses their respective families causing opposition and taunts to come their way. In an attempt to truly test their and their families' compatibility, the couple decide to swap houses and live with their prospective in-laws for three months. Will this absurd plan go their way or will it exposes unavoidable cracks? 

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani emerged as the sixth highest-grossing Indian film of 2023 and fourth highest-grossing Hindi film. With music composed by Pritam and cinematography by Manush Nandan, the drama garnered much praise for its extravagant sets and dance sequences, entertaining script but also amassed criticism over it's lack of originality and melodrama.
